6 Natural Ways To Moisturize Dry Skin




The list of reasons that can cause dry skin is a long one, from daily bathing habits (think hot showers and scrubbing yourself dry with a towel) and wicked winter weather to a lack of natural oils in your skin as you age. The good thing is that to heal your dry skin is a natural remedy to your skin-care routine at home. In fact, the ingredients for these dry-skin remedies might already be in your kitchen.
 
Here are some natural ways to moisturize dry skin :-

  • Olive Oil :- A great natural oil to use is olive oil, which works as a natural cleanser and moisturizer. Just rub the oil into your skin and drape a warm, damp cloth over your face until it cools then wipe away the excess oil. Olive oil is a good choice as a cleanser because it won't strip your skin’s natural oils, but it will clean your skin.

  • Avocado:- Avocado is another natural way to soothe dry skin. Take pureeing half an avocado and mixing it with 1 teaspoon (tsp) of olive oil; you can also add 1 tablespoon of honey for very dry skin. Apply the mask to your face, leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes, and then wash it off. Your skin should feel moisturized, but you can double up on the hydrating effects by applying your regular moisturizer as well.

  • Oatmeal :- Oatmeal also makes a great exfoliator or mask. Mix 2 tablespoon of oats with 1 tablespoon of honey and a dash of water. Making up the mixture, then rubbing it into your skin. You can use it just to exfoliate and wash it off right away, or leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes as a soothing, hydrating mask.

  • Aloe Vera Gel :- There are many benefits of Aloe Vera gel. Aloe Vera gel can be helpful during the dry winter months, too. It works by alleviating redness and irritation related to excess dryness, and it can even decrease signs of aging, as well as acne treatment.  You can either buy Aloe Vera gel from a drug store in your area or cut one of its tubular leaves and obtain a 100% natural gel directly from the source. It contains vitamin A and vitamin E, and its texture will form a barrier against germs and microbes while at the same time hydrating the skin.

  •  Coconut Oil :- Coconut oil becomes a solid at room temperature, so use it as a moisturizing cream at bedtime or anytime. Coconut oil is filled with amazing benefits for the skin. Use this on a daily basis. Just apply a justified amount of coconut oil and gently massage over face.

  • Yogurt :- Yogurt contains beneficial bacteria that help the body on the inside when consumed as food. Another way to use plain yogurt is to integrate it in facial masks. It is equally effective when applied to the skin because it prevents irritation and dryness from occurring. Mix one cup of yogurt with one tablespoon of honey and two tablespoons of oatmeal, then apply on the skin. Let it dry then wash with cold water. Use it twice in a week for better result.
